New Comments Feature

We’ll be rolling out modified commenting features on TYT.com soon, which sets the stage for us to start introducing more engaging interactive experiences going forward. Our new commenting system is built from the ground up to enable real-time commenting, which is a good fit with what our members need most: reliable, responsive commenting and discussion during TYT's live streams. We believe this change will help make TYT.com a better place to watch our programming live with other members - and after trying it out, we hope you agree. If you happen to prefer chatting over live commenting, no worries - the built-in YouTube live chat will remain in place.

The new commenting experience appears to work as expected, but exposing it to such a broad audience may surface some new issues. If you encounter a problem and don't mind taking a moment to help us improve, please send a note to our support team at [email protected]. We'd love to hear from you!

Until we're more certain that everything is working the way you expect it to, we've included a way for you to toggle back to our old commenting experience in case you need to.

Commenting on TYT.com is only available for current members in good standing, and that restriction will remain in place after the transition. During the initial launch, previously published comments won't be displayed, but don't worry - we have them, and we'll restore those comments into the new experience shortly after the transition is completed.

One last note on notifications - we've heard from a great many of you regarding your frustrations with the nonfunctioning notifications from our previous commenting platform provider. We hear you, and know how important notifications are for letting you know about mentions, replies and so on. With this rollout, TYT's commenting solution will now be managed entirely in-house, just like TYT.com itself is - which is why we're pleased to say that notifications for replies and mentions will be arriving shortly after this launch.

Again, if you have any questions or feedback about this change, please feel free to email us at [email protected], and thanks as always for supporting TYT.
